Responsible for the maintenance and operation of biomass boiler, furnace oil boiler and auxiliary equipment in a state facility and performs other duties as required.
The position holder shall demonstrate attention to safety, mechanical expertise, and good communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain boilers, including startup and shutdown procedures.
- Manage water treatment and softening in the boiler room.
- Monitor and adjust boiler operations to meet load requirements.
- Perform visual inspections, gauge readings, and control manipulation.
- Record pressure and temperature readings and inspect equipment for issues.
- Supervise daily maintenance, oiling, and greasing of components.
- Ensure safety, maintain water quality parameters, and collaborate with inspectors as needed.
Qualifications
- Hold boiler operation certificate
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Outstanding experience and expertise in the operation and maintenance of furnace oil and biomass fired boilers and related equipment.
- Effective analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team player
- Excellent knowledge in operation and basic maintenance of various types of boilers e.g.; thermosyphon, Deltatherm, Thermax bi-drum boiler among others.
- Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work and deliver under pressure
- Planning and organizational skills
- Can work with minimum supervision with hands on job.
