Our client, a subsidiary of a State Corporation, is seeking to recruit a Managing Director who will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company and for the overall management and provision of strategic leadership of the company. He/She will be responsible to the Board for achieving the company’s strategic objectives and goals, developing new business opportunities, promoting the corporate brand, improving organizational culture, ensuring profitability, recruiting staff, overseeing financial performance and providing necessary and timely reports for escalation to the Board of Directors and Shareholders.RequirementsAcademic Requirements, Relevant Experience, Skills and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree from a university accredited by the Commission for University Education
- Master’s degree in a field relevant to Business, Finance, Corporate management, or any other relevant field from a recognized university
- Have at least fifteen (15) years of relevant professional experience with ten (10) years served in a senior management position in the public sector or in a large and reputable organization in the private sector
- Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the constitution
- Leadership training
Required Experience And Skills
- Good understanding of Biotechnology and Consultancy
- Good understanding of the Export business in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East
- Demonstrated leadership experience with strategic vision and proven skills in managing complex organizations at the national, regional, or international level
- Proven ability to grow a business from start to over Ksh 400 million in turnover
- Proven ability to commercialize research and development (R&D) outcomes
- Demonstrated record of setting clear standards for; accountability, probity, value for money, risk management, zero tolerance for corruption, ensuring sound and transparent financial management, and delivering continuous improvement in; impact, efficiency, and effectiveness
- Demonstrated intellectual leadership, creativity, and proven ability to advance new ideas and lead in new ways of working across silos in a complementary and synergistic way for a prosperous and peaceful organization
- Proven track record of change management and accomplishments at the organization with strong resource mobilization and public relations skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead a multicultural team and establish harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outside the organization
- Proven ability to inspire, encourage, build trust and confidence and build consensus, stimulate effective campaigns, and drive collective action among a broad spectrum of people and organizations
