Our client is new established small high end resort based in Timau, Meru. They are looking to hire an enthusiastic, motivated, and result-driven Sales and Marketing Officer to sell and market their new resort in Timau.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Has knowledge of sales & marketing in the hospitality sector
  • Is able to navigate booking engines to increase the resort’s visibility
  • Able to navigate and market through social media platforms
  • Creative with ideas on how to enhance marketing the property
  • Able to advise of appropriate rates and change of rates with seasons
  • Able to come up with attractive packages for guests
  • Creates and implements a sales & marketing plan to achieve budget goals.
  • Analyses current markets and identifies new markets and potential clients
  • Assists with the development and implementation of promotions i.e. create advertising and promotional programs for hotels and hotel chains.
  • Proactively monitor the resorts profile on the various social media platforms and ensure
  • appropriate responses are posted in a timely fashion.
  • Attends trade shows, community events, and industry meetings to maintain knowledge of the market, competition, and customer at local and National level.
  • Actively participates in project terms that contribute to sales strategy, programs, or procedures.
  • Provide the highest quality of service to the guest at all times by anticipating and exceeding guest expectations and accompanying guests for activities out the resort when needed.
  • Support strategies and conduct activities to drive market share, guest satisfaction, and financial results.
  • Evaluates and drive the hotel’s participation in the various sales channels, Market Sales, Event Booking Centers, electronic lead channels, etc.
  • Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contracts, customer correspondence, and sales presentations).
  • The sales and marketing specialist is also responsible for coordinating marketing and promotional activities to meet guests’ needs, working closely with other hotel staff to ensure guests are satisfied with the facilities and their time there.
  • Provides assistance and support; maintains a positive and professional working environment

Key Qualifications

  • Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in sales and marketing or any related field
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role in the hospitality (hotel, reservation, sales) field is required.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  • Proven work experience as a Sales administrator or Sales support agent
  • Proficient MS suite applications
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Good business sense and the ability to motivate and lead a team.
  • Excellent communication and ‘people skills.’
  • Proficient planning and organizational skills.
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient and flexible in time management; the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to take initiative and effectively adapt to changes.
