Marketing and Recruitment Coordinator (Deakin College)
The Marketing and Recruitment coordinator will be based in Eldoret and work closely with the In-country Marketing Manager to manage student recruitment from East Africa to Deakin College. This role will largely contribute to the development, execution, and evaluation of the marketing strategy within East Africa. It will also provide services and support to agents, academic institutions, and potential students. This role plays an important part in driving the university’s strategic expansion in the region and a critical role in representing the Deakin brand in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Marketing Manager in developing and implementing the annual country marketing plans and achieving recruitment targets.
- Develop expert knowledge of all Deakin courses, student support services, admissions, and GTE requirements.
- Counsel students and parents on GTE requirements and assist students with required documentation.
- Responsible for all GTE documentation, preparation, and interviews including coaching/screening both agent and student profiles.
- Represent Deakin College at recruitment events, promoting Deakin as a study destination to prospective high-quality international students, and routinely assessing the effectiveness of such events to inform future activity.
- Organize recruitment events at schools/universities/English centers and co-organize events with agents as required.
- Respond to prospective student and agent inquiries accurately and promptly and take a proactive role in the follow-up and conversion of inquiries to application and offer to acceptance.
- Nurture and follow up leads and student pipeline and identify and propose new recruitment opportunities while assisting in organizing and running Pre-departure events.
- Provide updates to the agents to ensure that they are aware of their obligations under the Australian National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2017 and have a thorough understanding of Deakin’s key selling points and courses.
- Develop and maintain professional and effective relationships with Deakin’s agent network to ensure they are appropriately trained to maximize their potential as recruitment channels.
- Work with the Country Manager to develop annual agent marketing plans and work closely with the agents to develop activity plans and targets.
- Assist with the social media initiatives, print publication, and relevant materials assigned by Country
- Liaise with suppliers to receive quotes for producing marketing/promotional merchandise, with the approval of Marketing & Communications.
- Manage & arrange marketing materials for Deakin College in Kenya (logistics/contents/offline and online storage).
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- A track record of success in international student recruitment.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of the student recruitment industry within the Kenya education context and a sound understanding of the ESOS Act 2000.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple time zones.
- Very good interpersonal skills with the proven ability to establish effective relationships with prospective students and their families, schools, and agent networks.
- Demonstrated a high level of commitment to the provision of excellent customer service.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member in a competitive and demanding environment.
- Very good planning and organizational skills and the ability to manage competing requirements simultaneously.
Desirable Skills:
- Some marketing and communications experience is a plus, but not a necessity.
- Studying or working in Australia or another country outside of Kenya is desirable.
