Assistant supervisor
Our client in the hotel industry is seeking to recruit a competent and qualified candidate for the position of an assistant supervisor. The candidate should have good interpersonal skills, detail oriented, dedicated, organized, good customer service and problem solving skills. The assistant supervisor should work well under pressure, even with minimal supervision. He should also be able to work independently or as part of a large team.
Salary- Kshs 25,000
Responsibilities:
· Reporting to the Supervisor or other senior managers as required.
· Liaising between the Supervisor and other employees.
· Hiring and training new employees.
· Developing training materials and conducting training sessions and workshops
· Establishing business knowledge and awareness of shared company goals.
· Monitoring both individual and team job performance metrics.
· Providing staff with technical guidance and assistance.
· Relaying productivity concerns to the Supervisor.
· Preparing job descriptions and work schedules.
· Setting goals and plans to promote and improve the service of their department
· Giving schedules and assignment to each worker.
· Handling client’s complaints and compliments about their department.
· Making sure that events are well organized.
· Assisting with other administrative tasks, when required.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in business management, hotel and restaurant management or hospitality management
· 2 years’ experience in a similar Assistant Supervisor role in a hotel.
· Ability to create candidate hiring profiles and to appoint suitable staff.
· Extensive experience in compiling training materials and facilitating training.
· Ability to enhance business knowledge among company employees.
· Experience in liaising between management and employees.
· Exceptional ability to motivate employees and foster teamwork.
· Proficiency in monitoring and reporting job performance metrics.
· Advanced knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
