Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons in Biology and Chemistry or Physics and Chemistry, aligning with the IGCSE curriculum and school guidelines.
- Create and implement instructional materials, lesson plans, and teaching aids to cater to various learning styles and abilities.
- Promote critical thinking and analytical skills among students while encouraging them to explore and discover scientific concepts independently.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports students’ academic, emotional, and social development.
- Assess student performance regularly through tests, assignments, and examinations, providing timely feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
- Utilize technology effectively in the teaching process to enhance learning experiences and facilitate interactive learning.
- Collaborate with other science teachers and faculty members to develop and improve the science curriculum and teaching methods.
- Organize and supervise science-related extracurricular activities, such as science clubs, competitions, and field trips.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to update them on their child’s progress and address any concerns.
- Stay current with the latest science education developments and incorporate innovative teaching techniques into the classroom.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant scientific field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience teaching science subjects, preferably in a reputable secondary school setting.
- Familiarity with the IGCSE curriculum and previous experience teaching within this framework is essential.
- A teaching certification or licensure from a recognized accrediting body.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational abilities to effectively manage classroom activities, assessments, and administrative tasks.
- Passion for science education and a dedication to inspiring young minds in the field of science.
