Job Title: Assistant Systems Security Officer

Our Client, a deposit taking (DT) SACCO based in Nairobi with branches across the country is seeking to fill the role of an Assistant Systems Security Officer

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in design, configure, deploy, and maintain the SACCO  enterprise security infrastructure and do due-diligence of existing solution
  • Proactively monitor and report the ICT security landscape of the Society
  • Assist the end-user, other IT professionals, and external customers in requesting security variances and implementation of subsequent configuration change requests and change records and executing activity while adhering to SACCO processes and procedures.
  • Maintain system documentation, infrastructure diagrams and configuration data for regulatory and audit purposes. Make periodic changes to the diagrams and documentation in line with CAB approved changes.
  • Recommend best security practices to achieve stated business objectives, advises on risk assumptions for any variances granted, and provide alternatives to achieve desired end results
  • Assist in incident response for any breaches, intrusions, or theft; implement tools and solution to detect and mitigate loss (DLP, SIEM, IPS, Antiviruses, and FDE, DAM, PAM etc)
  • Actively protect SACCO’s information technology assets and infrastructure from external or internal threats and ensure that the SACCO complies with statutory and regulatory requirements regarding information access, security and privacy
  • Training staff on network and information security procedures, deploy tools to help staff in learning ICT security.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest intelligence, including hackers’ methodologies, in order to anticipate security breaches

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other computer-related field.
  • LAN & WAN, Cisco Networking functional knowledge
  • Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) or at a minimum, a certification in a mainstream networking product.
  • Hands on experience in networking and IT infrastructure role
  • Knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with PC and server hardware
  • A+ certification is an added advantage
  • Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s and virtualization.
  • Keen analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
