Main Purpose of the Job
This position reports to the Digital Enterprise Services Lead and will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration and safeguarding of stable and reliable KENET cloud infrastructure that supports digital enterprise and advanced research and education services. The roles are also for the academic cybersecurity emergency response team (CERT) services as well as ICT capacity building of research and education community.
Requirements for the Job
The ideal candidates shall have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications or Electrical engineering or related field from a recognized university. With five (5) years progressive work experience in UNIX, Linux and/or Windows Server environments, Unix system administration, Windows server setup & administration, TCP/IP Networks and strong shell scripting/automation skills.
In addition, applicants interested in this position should also have at least five (5) years relevant hands-on experience since graduation as a systems administrator in design, installation, operation and maintenance of Web Servers, database servers, content management systems and data center operations.
The candidate should have current certifications in; Linux (LPIC-2) and Windows; Cybersecurity; Cloud computing (MS Azure, GCP, AWS, etc) and networking; and in information security related fields (CEH, CHFI, CISA).
All candidates must have demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills, high ethical and moral standards and capable of working in teams with limited supervision.
