IT Assistant will report to the IT Specialist for all the IT support in Kenya and the larger East African Region. The position is responsible for support in Designing, Implementation and Maintenance of the whole IT infrastructure within the Premises in Kenya and the East Africa Region (includes- Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda and Ethiopia) as well as the IT end user’s support and ensuring smooth access to platforms and applications – (BKC, BDOCS, LISA, GLOBE, Citrix, TM1, Dynamics365 FO, MS Outlook and SharePoint).
The main tasks for the position will be:
1. This position holder will assist the IT Specialist in the management of all the company’s IT Assets including to design, Implementation and Maintenance of the IT infrastructure not limited to management of the lifecycle processes – Purchase, Install, Configure and De-install PC’s. Printers, LAN/WAN etc. Also update the IT Asset registry
2. He / She in collaboration with the IT Specialist will be responsible for the ERP system Microsoft Dynamics D365 Finance & Operations Administration functions including managing User’s security Roles, User Trainings, Reports customizations and also collaborate with our supporting partner Impax for ERP system updates.
3. He / She will ensure network stability and continuity in all areas all the time.
4. Full Responsibility for the management of user administration and authorization including Operational Support to the end-users and daily maintenance and trouble shooting of the IT Environment in the allocated areas.
5. To work closely with the end users and understand their needs and ensure they have the best possible solutions in line with the Corporate IT standards and share knowledge within the team within your Region.
6. To represent the Global IT Organization in front of the end users, Implement and Promote the Global Corporate IT Standards and Solutions. Further, to work closely and support the Service Desk, 2nd Level Support and Expert Teams to ensure they fulfill their necessary tasks at the local level like Incident Resolution and Service Fulfillment.
7. Work closely with the IT Specialist to develop and manage the Disaster Recovery Procedure manual as well as conduct Business Impact Analysis.
8. Work together with the IT Specialist to update and enforcement of all the IT security policies, procedures, and standards.
9. Work closely with the IT Specialist to prepare and present IT monthly reports.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or closely related discipline.
2. Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position is essential.
3. Self-motivated and a good team player.
4. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
5. Hands-on experience at configuring IT security solutions – firewalls, endpoint, mail gateway.
6. Knowledge of information security management best practices such as ISO 27001
7. Experience at writing effective security policies and procedures
8. Knowledge in Microsoft Dynamics Finance & Operations is an Added Advantage
