  • The County Secretary will be the Secretary to the County Executive Committee and the Head of the County Public Service.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be the Head of the County Public Service.
  • Be responsible for arranging the business, and keeping the minutes of the County Executive Committee subject to the directions of the Executive Committee.
  • Convey the decisions of the County Executive Committee to appropriate persons or authorities.
  • Ensure efficient management of resources and co-ordination of the County Government resources.
  • Coordinate the County Government activities and service delivery.
  • Provide direction and guidance to public officers in the County Executive.
  • Perform any other functions as may be directed by the Governor.

Qualification for appointment

  • Be a Kenyan citizen
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree from a university recognized in Kenya
  • Have at least ten (10) years relevant professional experience.
  • Have at least five (5) years’ experience in a leadership position at senior management level in a public service or private sector organization.
  • Meet the requirements of leadership and integrity as prescribed in Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
  • Be conversant with the Constitution of Kenya 2010, laws on devolution and County laws.
  • Have ability to work in a multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
  • Have capacity to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of the county development objectives and vision 2030.
  • Demonstrate understanding and commitment to national values and principles of governance and Public Service Values and Principles as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 respectively.
  • Be computer literate.

Method of Application

Terms of Service: Five (5) year contract with eligibility for reappointment once.

  • Higher Education Loans Board.
  • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.

  • Credit Reference Bureau.
