Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented eLearning and Instructional Design Intern to join our team. You will work closely with the Manager of Instructional Design to assist in the creation of instructional materials and media rich training packages for our parents, teachers, and partners.

Scope of Work

  • Collaborate with the Manager of Instructional Design to identify requirements needed for training content curation
  • Help develop instructional content and identify appropriate instructional methods
  • Use instructional design principles and techniques to develop storyboards and scripts for digital learning solutions
  • Redesign instructional materials to ensure accessibility and usability
  • Research and identify learning activities and technologies that can be incorporated in training programs
  • Assist in the development of a training calendar, ensuring that all training materials are delivered on time
  • Identify evaluation methods to check effectiveness of instructional materials and training;
  • Participate in collecting and organizing feedback on existing training programs and materials
  • Perform ad-hoc projects as assigned

Timeframe

Up to 4 months and 10-15 hours per week. This is an unpaid internship.

Deliverable

A final report and/or presentation of the projects will be presented to an internal Worldreader committee at a determined date closer to the end of the internship.

Qualifications

  • Must be a resident and undergraduate studying at a recognized university in Nairobi, Kenya studying Educational Technology or Instructional Design
  • Have a sound understanding of end-to-end design and development experience from Instructional Design to delivery
  • Think creatively and bring digital learning content to life to engage user
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Strong analytical, interviewing, research, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Graphic design and layout skills
  • Experience creating instructional materials
  • Experience using interactive eBooks
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote work environment
  • Commitment to time frame
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have own computer and reliable internet connection
