The members of the Committee shall serve on part-time basis for a period not exceeding three years and may be reappointed for one further period not exceeding three years based on satisfactory performance.

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

A person shall be qualified to be appointed as a member of the Committee if that person:

  1. possesses a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a university recognised in Kenya;
  2. has at least 15 years’ professional experience in a relevant field;
  3. has served in a top management position relevant field for at least 5 years;
  4. has knowledge of national development goals;
  5. has experience in performance management; and
  6. satisfies the requirements of Chapter Six of the

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Committee shall be responsible for—

  1. negotiating performance contracts with public bodies;
  2. ensuring that the performance targets of public bodies and indicators are aligned to the strategic plan;
  3. ensuring that performance targets of public bodies are aligned to the performance indicators provided in the strategic plan;
  4. ensuring that the public bodies’ indicators are aligned to results that are citizen-focussed;
  5. undertaking mid-year performance reviews of public bodies; and
  6. evaluating the performance of public
  7. monitoring news coverage and tracking public perceptions of Government policies and initiatives;
  8. collaborating with other Government agencies and departments to coordinate messaging and ensure consistent communication; and
  9. advising Government officials and decision-makers on public relations and media
