Sinapis is looking for an eager, mission-aligned, and creative young graphic designer with social media experience who is interested in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. This individual will provide support to the Sinapis Marketing and Events Teams by assisting with graphic design, social media content drafting and posting, and logistical support for Sinapis events.

 

Role Level: Intern

Reports to: East Africa Marketing Manager

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Employment type: Full-time 4-month internship, 1 August to 30 November, 2023

Compensation: KES 100,000 total paid as KES 25,000/month

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Design creative and effective graphics for Sinapis marketing collateral
  • Support social media content creation and management by brainstorming content ideas, creating engaging posts, and tracking campaign progress
  • Update marketing materials to promote new course launches, workshops, and events
  • Capture compelling photos and stories of entrepreneurs in Sinapis programs
  • Execute record keeping, e-filing, and other administrative documentation
  • Attend, offer ideas, and take minutes for events and marketing team meetings
  • Support the planning and execution of special events and activities
  • Assist with attendee follow-ups and feedback collection from events
  • Assist with building and maintaining a media contact directory
  • Proofread materials prior to publishing
  • On rotation with other interns, serve as the office coordinator by warmly greeting and directing guests as they enter the space

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrable experience with graphic design (portfolio required with application)
  • Undergraduate or higher degree in marketing, graphic design, or a related field
  • A heart for our mission and a passion for alleviating poverty through private sector development
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Ability to work independently in a small team environment
  • Strong character and integrity

  

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with social media content creation and management
  • Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce and HubSpot
  • Solid understanding of business, entrepreneurship, and missions
