Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) was established under the Sacco Societies Act, CAP 490B with a mandate to license, regulate and supervise the Sacco Sector in Kenya. The Authority is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and results oriented candidate to fill one (1) position of Planning Officer (SASRA 6). The suitable candidates shall be employed on permanent and pensionable terms of service.

ROLE SUMMARY

The job holder will be answerable to the Manager Research Strategy and Planning for the performance of his/her duties. The successful candidate will support and assist the Planning Department in the development, implementation and monitoring of the of the Authority’s Strategic plans to ensure achievement of corporate goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

a) Participating in developing policies in Sacco Industry.
b) Collecting quarterly and annual performance data of the Industry.
c) Updating and maintaining a record of all performance contract evidence in the Authority.
d) Drafting proposals for resource mobilization.
e) Participating in the development of the Authority’s internal polies; and
f) Participating in the preparation and implementation of the Authority’s Performance Contracts.

b) Job Specifications

a) Bachelor’s degree in economics, Sociology, Strategic Management, Public Administration, Project Management or related disciplines.
b) Proficiency in computer applications; and
c) Demonstrated professional competence in work performance.

Other Mandatory Requirements

In addition, to academic qualifications, experience and person specifications referred to herein above, the successful candidate must satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 before appointment by providing the following documents:

i) Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
ii) Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board.
iii) Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority.
iv) Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.
v) Report from an Approved Credit Reference Bureau.
