About the role:

The job title is “Accountant and Human Resource Manager” within the Finance Department. You will answer to the Senior Management in your capacity as the Accountant and Human Resource Manager. You will oversee both the Accounts Department and the Human Resource Department in the Human Resource Manager and Accountant role. Responsibilities:

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Provide accurate financial statements on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure that petty cash is accounted for and a report forwarded to senior management. A statement must be attached to the petty cash report as a supporting document.
  • Produce monthly management reports such as Sales Summary Report, Fleet Management Report, and any other management report as may be required by the Management.
  • Carry out the yearly budgeting exercise and advice management. Carry out all departmental budgeting requirements and ensure adherence to the same.
  • Work with the Operations Manager to ensure adequate inventory levels are maintained always to avoid unnecessary stock-outs. All shortages should be recovered from the associates responsible on the month of occurrence.
  • Ensure monthly statutory deductions are processed on time and remitted by the due dates. These are the PAYE, VAT, Corporate Tax, NHIF, NSSF and any other KRA deductions such as Stamp Duty that may be required to be submitted.
  • Up keeping the muster roll and staff timings –ensure that reporting time is adhered to as per the employee contracts.
  • Individual staff data management-Date of employment/Due leaves, Loans, Offs duties, NSSF, NHIF, PIN records etc.
  • Supports organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; consulting managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; and recommending changes.
  • Payroll computation-ensure payroll is duly computed every month and ensuring that each staff member is paid.
  • Preparation and issuance of contracts to new staff after recruitment.
  • Manages a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; and implementing pay structure revisions.
  • To ensure implementation of the policies and procedures of the company.
  • To be the custodian of all Personnel files.
  • Enhances the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies and procedures.
  • Any other details as may be assigned to you from time to time by your senior management.

Academic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any business-related field.

Professional Qualifications:

  • CPA-intermediate level

Other Requirements (unique/job specific):

  • 2 years of relevant job experience
  • Experience in a busy accounting office especially in reconciliation will be an added advantage.
  • Computer literacy (MS. Office, PowerPoint, e-mail, etc.)
