Job Title: Spa Accountant

Job Overview: This role entails working closely with the Finance Officer to ensure all finance and accounting processes are understood and followed by all. Your role will also include achieving all spa accounting tasks with accuracy and timeliness. You will oversee the branch petty cash, expenses, and reconciliation. To be successful in this role you will need to be process oriented, have great attention to detail, strict with deadlines and highly organized.

Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Excellent experience in MS Office packages including Excel sheets.
  • MUST be at least a CPA 4-6 holder.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration- Accounting/Finance option from a reputable institution.
  • At least 3 years’ experience working in accounting and finance roles.
  • Auditing experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Payments and Verification
  • Conduct daily accounts reconciliation to verify daily total treatments against completed payments for the spas.
    • Conduct daily bank reconciliations for all spa departments to ensure that receipts have been issued and all completed treatments have been invoiced on Spa Guru.
    • Daily M-PESA, Cash, Visa payments and Pesapal reconcile and compare with treatments sale .
    • Conduct Weekly Gift voucher reconciliations with the spa system to ensure proper invoicing has been done in the spa system.
    • Assist the Finance and Accounts Officer in verifying orders through checking all consumption reports to ensure proper accounting.
  • Oversee the monthly spa shopping to ensure effectiveness and proper accounting.
    • Maintain proper journals in the system and ensure organized bookkeeping system.
    • Ensuring monthly stock reconciliation is done and the master stock file postings matches the accounting books balances.
    • Invoice issuing to clients or companies upon request.
    • Assist with supplier reconciliations and make timely payments to them.
    • Conduct monthly actual cash count reconciliations to ensure that the cash held tallies with the reconciliation reports. Maintain Petty cash account and facilitate cash payments for assigned branches.
    • Conduct and ensure timely monthly statutory payments for PAYE, NSSF and NHIF. Maintain a proper asset register for the company, and calculations on any disposals.
    • Liaise with the Finance Officer to facilitate annual audit.

   Inventory and Reporting

  • Maintain proper records of all transactions and ensure the books of the company are always kept in good order i.e contracts, Invoices and statements are filed.
    • Assist the stock team in stock taking activities.
    • Ensure that the company is always tax compliant in the transactions and payments.
    • Report to the Finance and Accounts Officer any impropriety or any events at the spa that you feel may be fraudulent or dishonest or illegal as soon as they come to your attention.

Advisory

  • Conduct internal checks to ensure that all procurement processes for spa systems are valid and efficient.
    • Ensure internal and external legal compliance within the financial system of the company.
    • Ensure that the company’s standards are aligned with the Standard Accounting

Principles.
