Background and overview
Young Experts: Tech for Health (YET4H) is a global youth network that re-imagines healthcare in the digital age. Led by youth, for youth, YET4H believes in a world where young people are resourced and empowered to interrogate the status quo in digital health, represent the diversity of youth, and shape more inclusive and equitable paradigms in the global digital health agenda. YET4H aims to achieve its vision of a global digital health ecosystem that meaningfully engages young people, catering to their unique needs and challenges, and recognizing them as equal stakeholders and partners in achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
YET4H is hosted by Transform Health, a coalition of organizations dedicated to achieving Universal Health Coverage by increasing access to digital technology and data. The YET4H Coordinator is integrated into the secretariat (known as the ‘enabling function’) of Transform Health. YET4H members, who are young adults representing each WHO health region, work across Transform Health’s working circles (which are part of Transform Health’s network governance model) to offer youth perspectives.
The YET4H Coordinator position will primarily manage the oversight of the implementation of the YET4H work plan and YET4H’s day-to-day activities, enabling the work of YET4H members, and the larger youth movement for digital transformation for health. The YET4H Coordinator will also serve as the consensus builder and key point of contact among YET4H members, as well as with external partners. The ideal candidate will have technical experience in digital health, as well as be comfortable and experienced in liaising, navigating, and building relationships between young people and other stakeholders.
The YET4H Coordinator should be someone who has a realistic understanding of what it takes to build a youth movement, is able to work flexibly and inclusively, and is prepared to dive in!
Mandate And Profile

- Comfort and familiarity working with IT, including teleconferencing, and social
media posting;
- Experience working with various national, regional and/or global stakeholders is desirable.
- Note: The YET4H Coordinator should be prepared to spearhead priority activities while effectively engaging and supporting YET4H members. They should also have the flexibility to work across different time zones and cultures considering the diverse countries in which YET4H members are located.
Specific responsibilities
- Manage the implementation of YET4H’s strategic plan and work plan, including alignment with Transform Health’s campaign and advocacy strategies/implementation;
- Engage YET4H members around activities and work, to ensure delivery of the work plan and fair distribution of workload across members i.e., assign tasks to YET4H members as needed and as relevant;
- Provide the necessary support to enable YET4H members to be meaningfully engaged
in YET4H’s and Transform Health’s work, including technical assistance, administrative and logistical support, and capacity building, among others;
- Coordinate and facilitate YET4H inputs into key processes, documents, and planning of
Transform Health;
- Identify and build relationships with new partners and funders;
- Coordinate YET4H’s engagement in key moments and events in coordination with Transform Health and other partners, including identifying engagement opportunities (likely to include some travel arrangement support);
- Facilitate communication between YET4H and key partners, in particular, Transform
Health and funders/donors, including arranging calls and meetings;
- Manage YET4H’s key networks including the YET4H Advisory Council, the YET4H-Transform Health Youth Caucus, grantees, etc;
- Manage YET4H communications including internal communications (email, etc.), managing YET4H social media accounts, oversight of the YET4H website in coordination with at least one of the YET4H members and a consultant;
- Ensure the implementation of the YET4H governance structure, including providing
support to the Board of Directors, recruitment of new YET4H members (when necessary) and transition of existing members;
- Coordinate YET4H’s monitoring, evaluation and impact framework, including data
collection, quarterly reports, and grant reports (in coordination with a consultant);
- Track the YET4H budget, coordinate with Transform Health to collect invoices and receipts for audit purposes and monthly invoicing, and report to the YET4H members using the required tools by Transform Health i.e., Salesforce;
- Manage the disbursements of YET4H funds in accordance to the work plan and
operating guidelines of Transform Health, including disbursing stipends to members, fees to consultants, etc;
- Manage the campaign budget and programmatic sub-granting to youth networks and
the operating budget of YET4H with Transform Health, including providing the necessary support for grantees;
- Manage and track Request for Proposals/Ǫuotations, selection of partners, progress
and reporting of sub-grantees;
- Recruit and manage consultants to assist YET4H in specific activities (as relevant);
- Be involved in the co-creation of advocacy and communication tools, campaigns, etc.
Partnerships und accountability
The YET4H Coordinator is ultimately accountable to the YET4H Board of Directors, who set the strategic direction of YET4H. In addition, they are also accountable to the YET4H members, who drive the work plan of YET4H. On a day-to-day basis, the YET4H Coordinator will report to Transform Health; specifically the Executive Director of Transform Health. The YET4H Coordinator will partner most directly with the Campaign Lead and the Policy Lead of Transform Health.
Employment status and compensation
The YET4H Coordinator will be hired as a consultant by Transform Health. The role comes with a non-negotiable salary of $55,000 (USD) annually for an appointment between 25 September 2023 – 25 September 2024, with the possibility of extension as funding and
performance permit. This is a full-time role. As a consultant, the YET4H Coordinator will be responsible for their own benefits.
