HERAN Lutheran World Federation Department for World Services Kenya/Somalia program is seeking to recruit refugee teachers for the following WORLD positions to be based in Kakuma.
Role Purpose
Junior Secondary School Teacher is responsible for the implementation and development of all aspects of LWF Junior Secondary education program in Kakuma Refugee Camp.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the development and improvisation of teaching/learning aids for effective and motivating lessons
Ensure teaching/implementation of prescribed Junior Secondary education curriculum subjects. Teaching at least TWO examinable subjects per day
Conduct continuous assessment tests and termly examinations, mark and apply exam results/outcomes for improving curriculum while maintaining value-added progress (VAP) at every stage.
Foster positive teacher/pupil/parent relationship for effective and informed joint training of the pupil.
Support the Head and the Deputy Headteacher to supervise/control the discipline of the School by ensuring a child-friendly environment in school from CORPORAL PUNISHMENT.
Qualifications and Experience
An average grade of C+(Plus) and above in KCSE.
. Must have scored C+(Plus) and above in the two teaching subjects in KCSE . A diploma in teacher education (Secondary option) is an added advantage. Candidate must have proof of UNHCR registration.
