Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Logistics Supervisor in the day-to-day operation of the transport department.
- Formulate and implement strategies, plans, and policies related to the logistics and transport department.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with logistics and supply chain operations.
- Implement green logistics practices to minimize environmental impact.
- Identify, establish, and maintain appropriate fleet management software.
- Assess transportation needs and provide advice on the most suitable mode of transport.ENI
- Prepare scope of work and negotiate logistics/transportation contracts when necessary.
- Ensure proper record-keeping practices for the fleet and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with logistics and supply chain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare and distribute invitation-to-bid forms as required.
- Conduct regular assessments of drivers’ knowledge of traffic rules, signaling, and practical driving.
- Promote adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Maintain fleet-related records and documents while ensuring the safety of vehicles.
- Liaise with mechanics for servicing and conduct daily and weekly oil checks.
- Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma in logistics, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a busy environment.
- Good computer skills, including working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Knowledge of basic stocktaking procedures.
- Firefighting and HSE basic courses (preferred).
- Must be proficient in SAP, MRP, and 3 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing and warehousing environment.
