The Business Development Team plays a fundamental role in creating a healthy pipeline to achieve ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. The ideal candidate will cultivate relationships with prospective clients in order to catalyze business development success. This individual will schedule meetings with clients in order to understand their needs. They will also work closely with sales and marketing teams to uncover new leads.
Responsibilities
- Identifying, progressing and qualifying leads to sales opportunities.
- Nurturing existing sales opportunities further along the sales cycle to a developed stage.
- Identify and research opportunities that come up in new and existing markets i.e., account planning and mapping.
- Generate appointments and contacting potential clients through cold calls, emails, and social media.
- Pipeline and lead generation via web-based search engines.
- Promote the company’s products or services to potential clients.
- Identifying client needs i.e., pain points/objectives and pitching the appropriate solution.
- Ensure opportunity progression and alignment with internal stakeholders, as well as involving additional external stakeholders, and decision-makers who have responsibility and influence over the deal.
- Participate in trade shows, conferences, events and user group meetings as needed.
- Regular cadence with internal stakeholders to align on strategy, function and next steps.
- Input and maintain sales forecasting data in CRM for deal stage progression.
- Maintaining client activities and data in the CRM.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of business and sales growth techniques.
- Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong communication, networking and time management skills
- Strong customer focus and service skills.
- Research ability and skill.
- Young with enthusiasm for the company and its growth potential.
- Knowledge of and a passion for digital products i.e., hardware, software and digital solutions.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Fintech space is an added advantage.
- French speaking is an added advantage.
