PURPOSE OF ROLE
- The Reward Analyst and Controller will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining integrated and innovative rewards strategies, experiences and programs to attract, retain and grow the best talent for our operations in Africa; overseeing the administration of compensation and benefits; payroll administration; recognition programs; overheads budgeting and monitoring whilst managing HRIS project initiatives.
JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Rewards Strategy
- Develop a competitive total rewards strategy, policies and programs to support business goals and aimed at recognising excellent performance to attract and retain staff while ensuring that they are fairly and consistently applied.
- Coordinate the annual and supplementary salary reviews and salary benchmarking processes.
- Create internal communication strategies, routines and success metrics on budgeting & reporting so that concepts, metrics, and philosophies are understood.
- Develop, review and evaluate the effectiveness of existing compensation, benefits and wellness policies and programs including variable pay schemes and their cost effectiveness and in alignment with business goals and propose modifications for improvement.
- Train people managers and employees where applicable across the entire organization on our rewards policies, structure and drive requisite change initiatives.
- Provide leadership and guidance on rewards to HR Business Partners through effective coaching.
- Advise senior leaders across the organization on market trends and insights.
- Liaise with the regional and global COE team on total reward issues for Africa.
HR Controlling, Payroll & Compliance
- Understand the Group, Regional and Local Compensation and Benefit plans, programs and policies and support program design.
- Coordinate the annual HR & Overheads business planning exercise by partnering with the market HR and finance teams.
- Develop routines for HR & Overheads budgeting & reporting for the Leadership & Regional Team, working with the Finance and HR teams to track, monitor and report on status according to Group standards, metrics and guidelines
- Develop and promote internal controls, standards, and processes to ensure accuracy and consistency in mining data used for decision-making, internal/external reporting and communications.
- Communicate and interpret rolling estimate results to appropriate level of management providing additional perspective on implications, risk, opportunity and trends.
- Monitor administrative costs of benefits programs and recommend cost containment strategies.
- Perform regular audits for the integrity and accuracy of reward & HRIS data.
- Ensure compliance with local, regional and global regulations related to compensation and benefits.
- Manage internal payroll and outsourced payroll providers where applicable.
Insights & Analytics
- Develop, maintain, and periodically report on the HR Scorecards and Dashboards.
- Lead the preparation of periodic Board Reports in liaison with the subsidiary HR Teams.
- Utilize a data driven approach to identify trends and recommend proactive solutions to attract and retain the right talent.
- Manage third party benefits and service providers including insurance companies and brokers, Tax and Pension Fund Administrators, banks, immigration service providers, payroll software providers and outsourced labour providers to negotiate benefit plans, resolve and amalgamate benefit-related issues and ensure compliance.
- Participate in subsidiary, regional and group rewards and operational planning sessions to gain an understanding of operating environment and business needs.
Global Mobility
- Manage end-to-end expatriate and immigration issues including compensation, onboarding, offboarding and liaising with immigration officials and/or service providers.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Demonstrable experience of effective preparation and implementation of the HR/overheads budgets, monitoring, reporting and project management.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Broad-Based Compensation – Fixed and Variable remuneration, benefits, job evaluation and grading processes in different industries and multiple African geographies.
- Strong communicator, able to engage with both internal and external key stakeholders to influence decisions which may have an impact on project deliverables.
- Previous experience working in fast-paced, decentralized environments; experience helping organizations to scale.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Finance, Business, Humanities and Social Sciences or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- At least 6 years’ progressive experience in similar role.
- High integrity and ability to professionally handle and maintain confidential information.
- Adaptable to a dynamic environment with rapidly changing priorities.
- Advanced computer literacy and specifically advanced MS Excel skills.
- Strong HR Data Analytics / Power BI experience.
- Quick learner and great attention to detail.
- Enthusiastic, highly motivated and self-driven.
