Job Brief
On behalf of our client, we are looking for a highly capable IT hardware specialist to provide technical assistance to staff. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring optimal use of the organization’s hardware and software technologies, enhancing system performance, and securing organizational data.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
- Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks.
- Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests.
- Updating computer software, hardware and systems.
- Training end-users on hardware functionality and software programs.
- Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
- Maintaining databases and ensuring system security.
- Providing technical support across the company.
- Setting up accounts for new users.
- Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary.
- Documenting processes and testing new technology.
- Resolving logged errors in a timely manner.
- Keeping track of technological advancements and trends in IT support.
Skills and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field.
- A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience.
- Experience with system administration and system troubleshooting.
- Sound knowledge of network configuration systems such as WAN and LAN.
- Sound knowledge in operating system troubleshooting, Windows, Mac os and Linux.
- High level knowledge of commonly used software, hardware and applications.
- Strong communication skills to gather information from employees and explain complex technical concepts in simple language.
