icipe seeks to recruit a Research Assistant I in the Human Health Theme. The position is tenable in Nairobi at the icipe Duduville campus. This is a two-year contract, renewable subject to continued position needs, funding for the position, and performance of the staff member. This is a nationally recruited position. Overall Purpose of the Job
Mass rearing of mosquitoes for promotion icipe 4Hs Theme.
Specific Duties
- Mass rearing of several species of mosquitoes for research work on specific demand.
- Sorting and supplying all stages of mosquitoes to users.
- Data recording.
- Cleaning and disinfecting rearing facilities.
- To provide any other services directed by the supervisor.
Requirements/Qualifications
- KCSE
- Certificate in Laboratory Science Technology.
- Minimum of 1 year in maintenance of research insect colonies.
Other Desirable Attributes
- Experience in mosquito rearing.
- Expected to make decisions for his/her job with approval from the supervisor.
- May assist other employees in their work.
Reporting
This position reports to the Research Scientist.
