We are pleased to announce the following Position in the IT Department of Agriculture and Climate risk enterprise( ACRE Africa). ACRE is a risk management solution designer linking stakeholders to localized solutions such as insurance and climate change adaptation to reduce agricultural and climate risks.

In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below. Brief description ACRE seeks to appoint a resourceful, dynamic, and self-driven individual to fill the vacancy of Digital solutions officer with immediate effect.

The candidate will report to the head of IT and will be based in Nairobi with occasional travel. The position holder will be responsible for supporting innovative insurance business applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in system analysis, quality assurance & testing, customer support, and coding mobile apps, USSD, and web applications.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Requirements elicitation, system specifications analysis and translate system requirements to task specifications.

• Track the software development task to closure.

• Internal and external client engagements

• Develop effective documentation, manuals, strategies, and test plans.

• Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results.

• Evaluate product code according to specifications.

• Create logs to document testing phases and defects.

• Report bugs and errors to development teams

• Provide technical support and customer service that include coding and rework.

• Product deployment and user training Requirements:

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related Technical, Agriculture field.

• 2+ years of experience in digital product development or management.

• Strong understanding of back-end and front-end development.

• Experience with mobile app development (iOS/Android), USSD, and web applications such as C#, php.

• Experience with agile methodologies, quality assurance, and testing methodologies.

• Strong analytic curiosity and innovative problem-solving skills using design thinking.

• Authority to work in Kenya.

Professional Skills:

• A strong self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.

• Strong discipline in meeting attendance and closure of action points in the agreed time

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities

• Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills.
