Architect I
Requirements for Appointment
For direct appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
- Bachelors Degree in Architecture or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
- A member of AAK and/or BORAQS
Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparation of sketch/scheme designs
- Preparation of production drawings;
- interpretation of project requirements;
- Post contract administration
Inspector (Mechanical – Motor Vehicle and Plant) (2 Posts)
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), mean grade C- or its equivalent;
- A Diploma (Automotive) or other approved equivalent qualification;
- A valid Driving License.
Duties and Responsibilities
- The officer will be attached to a motor vehicle or plant repair workshop.
- Repair and maintenance of motor vehicles and plant;
- Inspect and test vehicles and equipment before and after repairs;
- Conduct proficiency test for drivers
Fire Officer II
Requirements for Appointment
- Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Occupational Health and Safety, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
- a valid First Aid Certificate from St. John’s Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highways and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institution
Duties and Responsibilities
- preparation of drawings for siting of fire appliances;
- Inspection of buildings for assessing fire hazards and risks and ensuring availability of emergency exits and adequacy of means of escape in public buildings;
- Repair and maintenance for firefighting equipment.
Inspector (Fire Services)
Requirements for Appointment
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade C;
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution; and
- First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John’s Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highways and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institution.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Specific duties will involve the inspection, repair and maintenance of fire installations in public buildings, hospitals and institutions
Fireman III
Requirements for Appointment
- Have Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade D or its equivalent and relevant qualification;
- First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John’s Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highways and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institution;
- Be physically fit;
- Be certified medically fit by a Government doctor.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Simple maintenance of fire-fighting appliances
- Fire fighting
- Assisting during emergency cases
