Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable functions, including processing and monitoring vendor payments and reconciling accounts
- Matching revenue to payment points for the various product revenue categories
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions in compliance with accounting standards and regulations and monthly reconciliation of bank and MPESA accounts
- Update weekly and monthly inflows and outflows records and provide updates
- Prepare and file tax returns and statutory deductions and payments
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Maintain a fixed asset registry and perform impairment, and pass journals for the same on Quickbooks
- Conduct monthly and annual financial analyses, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting
- Participate in internal and external audits and provide support for external auditors
- Participate in stock checks and reconciliation with Warehouse Manager
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
- Spot errors and suggest ways to continuously improve efficiency and spending
- Provide technical support and advice to the Management Accountant
The profile we’re likely to hire:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Business Administration, Finance or Accounting
- Professional Accounting Qualification (CPA (K) or ACCA)
- At least 4 years of experience in Finance/Accounting, with at least 2 years of handling accounts receivables
- Experience using Quickbooks and other Accounting software, and a good understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and their applications
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and prioritize key initiatives and opportunities
- Able to demonstrate initiative and ownership of assignments and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence others
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to effectively and efficiently handle a variety of responsibilities
- An individual who exemplifies integrity and honesty
- Experience in the e-commerce, retail, FMCG sectors would be an added advantag
