QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least two years’ experience in the same field
  • Able to effectively communicate out and deliver weekly plans.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITY

  • Mapping of scouting across your area
  • Early identification of pests (Including weeds) and diseases as per scouting procedure
  • Ensure proper installation of pheromon trap and other pest identifications traps.
  • Disease and pest monitoring after invention.
  • Immediate reporting of all findings that require urgent intervention such as hot spots and immigration, over or under irrigation, scorching or any crop damage
  • Identification and counts of all beneficial insects either naturally occurring or introduced into the fields
  • Monitor efficiency of products used for control measures.
  • Coordinating with management on all biological programs and implementation.
  • Verifying / validating of scouting reports to confirm accuracy and reliability.
  • Ensuring management plants / intentions on plant health are implemented in a timely manner.
  • Facilitating trials on new products prior to commercial use within the farm.
  • Producing a daily written report indicating pest/disease infestation progress for each block.
  • Maintaining up to date records and reports.
  • Liaise with your supervisor and the farm management to obtain recommended beneficial organisms and following IPM guidelines of application in respective crops
  • Conservation of the general environment/surroundings by keeping work areas clean and tidy and following waste management and disposal procedures
  • Adhering to all company, legal and customer requirements and regulations at all times
  • Promote and maintain ethical and professional standards in line with company staff regulations, ETI and other codes of conducts to enhance worker welfare.
  • Health and Safety – Ensure all duties are performed safely and responsibly in consideration to Environmental, Health and Safety Company policies.
  • Any other responsibilities as may be assigned by their manager from time to time.
