Being a not-for-profit organization, we are managed by a volunteering Board and Trustees, working for a charitable cause only. The Hospital has revolutionized healthcare provision in the Mount Kenya region. We are 24 hours, Specialty Hospital. We are also pioneers in Assisted living for the elderly in the country. We, further, acquired Gundua Health Centre and converted it into a 24 Bed Level 4 Hospital. The total Bed Capacity of the Nanyuki Cottage Hospital group is currently at 100 and growing every day. THE VACANCY: OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
Reporting to the Medical Services Director, the Resident Obstetrician and Gynaecologist the successful
candidate will be expected to provide quality Obstetrics and Gynecology services to both outpatients and
inpatients. He/ She will be expected to be an active member of the health care team to promote patient
safety, and clinical quality at the Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality with Obstetrics and gynecology medical care at the hospital.
- Drive growth and expansion of the scope of OB/GYN services within the hospital.
- Inculcate teamwork and a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
- Support medical education as part of continuing professional development services.
- Work with other in-house medical specialists to solve single or multiple medical issue (s) and
support the performance of extensive surgery, as necessary. - Keep abreast of advancements and best practices by attending seminars and conferences and
participating in continuous medical education. - Prepare and disseminate periodic reports appropriately.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB).
- MMed in Obstetrics and Gynecology #from a recognized University.
- Must be registered / Licensed by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board
- Specialist Recognition by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists Board

- At least two (2) years of working experience as an Obs/Gyn in a reputable hospital.
- Knowledge and interest in Laparoscopy will be an added advantage
- Candidate will be required to demonstrate the drive, desire and ability to enhance the scope of
MCH services to increase access and satisfaction beyond our customer’s expectation. - Good public relations and communication skills.
