Job Summary

Our client is seeking to fill the role of a general trade sales representative who has expertise in the wholesale segment and route-to-market strategies in the coffee industry. As a Sales Representative, you will play a pivotal role in introducing new coffee brands, enrolling distributors and wholesalers, managing a team of trade marketers, and executing trade marketing strategies to drive sales and market penetration.

Responsibilities

  1. New Brand Introductions: Identify opportunities to introduce new coffee brands into the market, conducting market research and analysis to identify target segments and develop appropriate strategies.
  2. Distributor and Wholesaler Enrolment: Build a network of distributors and wholesalers in the general trade sector, establishing mutually beneficial partnerships to expand distribution and reach.
  3. Team Management: Lead and manage a team of trade marketers, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure they effectively execute trade marketing activities.
  4. Trade Marketing Strategy Execution: Develop and implement trade marketing strategies aligned with overall business goals, including point-of-sale materials, promotions, incentives, and trade programs.
  5. Market Analysis: Conduct regular market analysis to identify trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights, leveraging this information to refine trade marketing strategies and drive sales.
  6. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and supply chain, to align strategies and ensure seamless execution of trade marketing initiatives.
  7. Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including distributors, wholesalers, and trade partners, to secure support and cooperation for trade marketing activities.
  8. Performance Tracking: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of trade marketing activities, analyzing sales data, market share, and other key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.
  9. Budget Management: Manage trade marketing budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to maximize ROI and drive sales growth.
  10. Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards in all trade marketing activities.

Qualification & Experience

  1. Experience: Proven experience in trade marketing within the FMCG sector, particularly in food and beverages, with a deep understanding of wholesale segment and route-to-market strategies.
  2. Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the coffee industry, including coffee products, consumer preferences, and market dynamics.
  3. Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and manage a team of trade marketers, providing guidance, motivation, and development opportunities.
  4. Trade Marketing Expertise: In-depth knowledge and experience in developing and executing trade marketing strategies, including point-of-sale materials, promotions, and trade programs.
  5. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze market data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  6. Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and trade partners.
  7. Results-Driven: Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving market penetration through effective trade marketing initiatives.
  8. Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and consumer needs, adjusting trade marketing strategies accordingly.
  9. Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office applications and trade marketing software.
  10. Valid Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to meet clients and oversee trade marketing activities as required.
