Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. As an Accounts Assistant, you will provide essential support in various accounting and financial tasks, contributing to the smooth operation of the finance department. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in accounting procedures, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Responsibilities:
1.Assist in the preparation and processing of financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
2.Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by recording and reconciling daily transactions, ensuring adherence to company policies and accounting standards.
3.Assist in the preparation of financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and contribute to the month-end and year-end closing processes.
4.Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial records to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies or errors.
5. Support the accounts receivable function by generating invoices, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
6.Assist with the accounts payable process by verifying invoices, obtaining proper approvals, and processing payments to vendors and suppliers.
7.Perform general ledger entries and maintain the chart of accounts, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
8.Assist in maintaining accurate fixed asset records, including tracking additions, disposals, and depreciation.
9.Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by gathering financial data, preparing reports, and performing variance analysis.
10.Support the preparation of financial reports, presentations, and other financial documents as needed.
11.Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation, conducting audits of financial records, and addressing audit inquiries.
12.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as purchasing, sales, and operations, to resolve financial discrepancies and ensure proper financial controls are in place.
13.Stay updated on accounting regulations, policies, and best practices to ensure compliance and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A bachelor’s degree is a plus.
2. Proven experience as an accounting assistant, bookkeeper, or in a similar role is preferred.
3. Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures.
4. Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Excel for data entry and financial analysis.
5. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping and data entry.
6. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve discrepancies or errors.
8. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members and stakeholders.
9. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
