Premier Foods Limited (PFL) is a leading food processing company in East Africa, manufacturing over 50 different products under various brand names, including, PEPTANG, PEP and ORCHID VALLEY. Our brands have been in use since 1935 and have become well known household names in the region.
We are looking to hire an Accountant Payables. This position will be based in Ruaraka, Nairobi County.
Reporting to the Financial Accountant, the Accountant Payables will ensure accurate, timely recording and payments voucher preparation of all financial transactions of the company on timely and as per creditors’ payment terms.
The main duties and responsibilities of this position entails: –
- Proper accounting and timely recording of payables and bank transactions in the General Ledger.
- Maintaining an up to date and accurate creditor’s ledger through daily checking and processing of documents in ERP system, journals postings, monthly accruals and prepayments.
- Prepare monthly creditors reconciliations between GL and suppliers statements for the key vendors.
- Prepare and maintain updated daily Cash flow schedule.
- Maintain an up to date Loan Schedule and other financial obligations.
- Prepare weekly Bank reconciliation and Cash flow projections Report.
- Process payment to suppliers promptly and ensure all queries are handled within the timelines. All suppliers’ reconciliations to be done before processing payments.
- Follow up on documents not received from suppliers of advance payments.
- Ensure timely payments allocations to suppliers invoices to enable accurate ageing analysis.
- General Ledger Tax accounts reconciliations and filling monthly VAT returns.
- Perform analysis of expenditure as may be required by management.
- Participate in any other duties that shall be reasonably assigned to you by the management from time to time.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: –
- Bachelor’s degree in finance.
- C.P.A K qualification or ACCA finalist and a member of ICPAK.
- At least 3 years of finance or accounting experience in a similar industry.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and ERP system knowledge.
- Deep knowledge of Local Tax obligations and other legal requirements.
