New Muthokinju Hardware Limited, a leading distributor of paints and Cement in Kenya is seeking to fill the position of a Branch Cashier.
The Branch Cashier is responsible for operating the cash register, collecting and processing payments, and dispensing receipts to customers for purchases. Additionally, the job holder will be responsible for all sales transactions in the branch.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive payments from customers whether in cash, Mpesa, or bank transfers.
- Manage all the cash transactions in the branch.
- Balance the daily account at the end of each day and ensure all sales are accounted for.
- Check the daily cash balance.
- Issue customers with receipt and change if any for the purchase.
- Create a welcoming environment, greeting and informing customers in a warm, courteous, and professional manner.
- Inform the customer about the total price of their purchase.
- Respond to all customer cash-related queries.
- Resolve cash-related customer complaints and escalate the same to the branch supervisor when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
- A Diploma in a business-related course.
- Professional certification in accounting courses from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
- Experience in accounting and/or administration will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Strong proficiency in mathematics.
- Ability to organize data and draft reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
