Internship Description

Aqua Clara Kenya’s Internship Programme is designed to develop the capacity of graduates in preparation for work in the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Sector.

As an intern, the position offers an opportunity to receive hands-on training, coaching & mentorship from ACK’s experienced staff while undertaking impactful activities. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals and gain insight into the day-to-day

operations of a successful Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Organization. This internship will provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in your future career. Additionally, you will be able to explore various roles, duties and responsibilities within the accounting practice hence providing practical context for academic and theoretical concepts, solidifying the knowledge and information gained through the study.

About the Position:

We are seeking an Accounts Intern to join our team. As an intern, you will work closely with our accounting team and report directly to the Accountant.

The Accounts Intern Job Description

  • Proper filing of documents and maintenance of accounting records
  • Posting transactions into Quick books
  • Producing ETR receipts for every sale
  • Performing daily reconciliations of transactions in regard to dispatch from stores, inventory movements and sales among others
  • Perform routine reconciliation of Mpesa Paybill with sales records
  • Participate in all the stock takes and reconciliation of the same
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  • Equivalent to CPA part III
  • Work experience in the same field will be an added advantage
  • Skills & Ability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software preferably Quick books
  • Good analytical skills
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
