Our client is a well-established Sacco in Thika. They are seeking a talented and versatile candidate to join their team as a System Administrator/Graphic Designer.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for creating visually appealing designs and providing technical support for the company’s and network infrastructure.
He/She will collaborate with the Finance & Administration & Marketing teams to design graphics for marketing materials, website, and digital platforms, while also assisting with IT-related tasks and troubleshooting issues to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
Graphics Design:
- Create visually appealing designs, illustrations, and layouts for marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, banners, advertisements, social media graphics, and website elements.
- Collaborate with marketing and other teams to understand design requirements and project objectives.
- Develop design concepts, graphics, and layouts based on provided briefs and guidelines.
- Utilize graphic design software and tools to create and modify design elements.
- Ensure consistency and adherence to brand guidelines in all design outputs.
- Stay updated on design trends, techniques, and industry best practices.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Incorporate feedback from clients, stakeholders, and team members into design iterations.
- Provide creative input and suggestions during brainstorming sessions and design reviews.
- Maintain organized files and documentation for all design projects.
IT System Support:
- Provide technical support for computer systems, software applications and network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Install, configure, and update software and applications on computers and devices.
- Set up and maintain user accounts, permissions, and security settings.
- Monitor system performance, diagnose issues, and optimize performance.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of IT projects, upgrades, and migrations.
- Conduct regular system backups and ensure data integrity and disaster recovery procedures.
- Provide user training and support for software applications and systems.
- Collaborate with IT teams and external vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
Desired Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field
- Proven experience as a Graphics Designer and in providing IT System Support.
- Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other relevant tools.
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.
- Knowledge of current design trends and best practices in digital and print media.
- Solid technical knowledge of computer systems, software applications, and network infrastructure.
- Experience in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, macOS) and productivity software (Microsoft Office, G Suite).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A portfolio of previous design work showcasing a range of styles and techniques is a plus.
