Surveillance Controller – Job Description
Job Brief
Lady Askari is looking for a Surveillance Controller to proactively identify, evaluate, and report security
threats through the professional use of CCTV equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities
● Perform surveillance using all cameras, to monitor access control, suspicious activity and
pedestrian and vehicular movements in and outside our locations
● Carry out a full CCTV system check.
● Record on the CCTV register any faults/anomalies and report for action, as necessary.
● Communicate any suspicious characters, vehicles or items detected via cameras.
● Annotate in the CCTV register any incident observed via the camera.
● Watch over security guards’ alertness
● Escalate all high-profile incidents up the chain of command as soon as possible
● Security communications, radio, telephone, email or otherwise.
● CCTV surveillance, recording and retrieving of data.
● Ensure that CCTV equipment and systems function correctly
● Registration and administration of access control systems in line with laid down regulations.
● Processing access for all staff and visitors
● Ensure that there are no breaches of access control rules by all persons while within premises.
Qualifications
● Minimum of KCSE Certificate with a grade of C and above
● Minimum of 2 years experience as a control room operator
● Experience using relevant technology and security equipment (e.g. CCTV, Computers, 2-way radio,
and security software)
● Experience in reporting and emergency response planning
● Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures
● Proficient in MS Office and Google Suite
● An analytical mind with problem-solving skills
● Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
● Fluent in written and spoken Swahili and English. Additional languages are a plus
● Excellent Communication Skills –clear and courteous on the phone, 2-way radio and email
● Capable of working 12-hour shifts which include days, nights, and weekends.
