Job Purpose

  • The Field Audit Team Lead oversees the Field Audit team, which comprises auditors who travel to assigned sites to audit their compliance with various company requirements and business processes. The Field Audit Team Lead has a high level of familiarity with the concepts, practices, and procedures of M-KOPA’s business, and provides oversight and guidance to the team, as well as to M-KOPA field staff with whom s/he comes in contact.

Job Requirements

  • Collect and analyze audit data about M-KOPA channel inventory locations (shops, depots, etc.) to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud, or non-compliance with processes, regulations, and management policies.
  • Prepare detailed reports on audit findings, including performance scorecards for areas of the audit. Present findings to management at regular intervals or as required.
  • Inspect the document records (activity books, paper reports, online trackers, etc.) of channel inventory locations for accuracy, effectiveness, and procedural compliance in recording transactions and activities.
  • Oversees monthly transfers of lost Serialised stock to Disposal and Lost warehouses.
  • Oversight of monthly stock audits across all M-Kopa locations.
  • Oversight of monthly compliance audits across all M-Kopa locations.
  • Conducts monthly FSM/SE audits.
  • Aged stock and shrinkage reporting & management and use the findings to drive improvements within and outside the team.
  • Examine inventory held by stock locations, including assets and stock for sale/swap, to verify all journal and ledger entries made by channel inventory location staff.
  • Produce strategic information/reports on any emerging or unforeseen issues to allow management to take timely mitigating actions.
  • Plan and schedule activities/calendar for the field audit team and act as their line manager.
  • Provide support as required to resolve issues arising in the field.

Skills and Competencies

  • A relevant qualification in accounting/mathematics/statistics (Bachelor or professional course)
  • Worked at least 1 year in a professional finance environment
  • Good knowledge and experience of M-KOPA business, including products and processes.
  • Good team management skills.
  • Good analysis and reporting skills.
  • Detail-oriented, excellent organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, punctuality, and timeliness.
  • Clear communication by email, telephone, or in person.
  • Ability to manage overlapping timelines and create task schedules/calendars.
  • Exceptional work ethic and compliance with company Anti-bribery and Corruption policy.
  • Able to self-manage and take initiative without being micro-managed.
