Overall Purpose of the Job
- The responsibility of this position will be to assist in planting and maintaining tomatoes and maize in the screen house/farm which is used in rearing Tuta absoluta and Spodoptera frugiperda respectively.
Specific Duties
- Maintain plant nurseries and provide seedlings/plants to scientists, students, and technical staff in AFFP.
- Assist the students and technical staff as and when required.
Requirements/Qualifications
- KCSE or its equivalent with basic skills to perform simple tasks. No experience is required.
- Expected to have basic knowledge and skills to perform simple tasks. Knowledge is acquired through short periods of instruction.
- May require prior experience in nursery maintenance.
Other Desirable Attributes
- Requires approval from the supervisor. However, this must be accompanied by sound personal judgment and quick decision-making on aspects affecting work quality or output.
- Does not supervise the work of others but may assist other employees in their work.
