Overall Purpose of the Job
- The responsibility of these positions will be to assist in rearing fruit flies, parasitoids and to support bioassay activities in the laboratory.
Specific Duties
- Maintain vibrant colonies of fruit flies and parasitoids.
- Assist in conducting bioassays as and when required.
Requirements/Qualifications
- KCSE or its equivalent with basic skills to perform simple tasks.
- Expected to have basic knowledge and skills to perform simple tasks. Instructions on the job are adequate to have someone get started.
- No prior experience is required.
- General appreciation of insect rearing adequate.
Other Desirable Attributes
- Implementation of all activities requires prior approval from the Supervisor. However, this must be accompanied by sound personal judgment and quick decision-making on aspects affecting work quality or output.
- Does not supervise the work of others but may assist other employees in their work
