SITE CLEANING & GARDENING SUPERVISOR (NAIROBI)
As the Supervisor you will be responsible to manage a group of stewards using effective feedback and communication. To support the operations manager by planning, organizing and monitoring a large team of cleaning stewards to undertake the scope of work allocated by client in an efficient and structured manner while assessing work performance and identifying areas for improvement and training opportunities. You will also communicate staff performance with management team. Use the company knowledge to offer a customer-focused experience. Your main responsibility will be overseeing the execution of all operational tasks and functionalities within assignment(s). This role reports to the Regional Coordinator.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize and monitor a large team of cleaning stewards to undertake the scope of work allocated by client in an efficient and structured manner
- Have knowledge and experience in use of electrical equipment and other cleaning machines such as; vacuum cleaners, scrubbing machines
- Guide the team on areas of gardening and landscaping services
- Reporting all defects of equipment furniture and fittings including electrical appliances
- Ensuring that areas are properly secured after cleaning work is completed and that breaches of security are reported if any.
- Collection of cleaning materials from stores as required
- Maintaining and management of a good customer/client relationship.
- Maintaining safe and hygienic working practices with due regard of self and others
- On the job training for newly recruited stewards as well as providing thorough briefing to stewards deployed to out of their normal areas.
- Consistent assignment supervision to ensure that all duties are carried out to a high standard
- Reporting absence, sickness and any other staff issues using appropriate forms and liaising with and communicating to the head office
- People Management- Lead a team of stewards in line with scope and within stipulated timelines.
- To remain upto date with site policies and communicate these when team requests information
Qualification and Skills:
- High School diploma
- Basic training on housekeeping
- 3-5 years sales experience in as a site supervisor in the Professional Cleaning Industry and having lead teams of above 15 people
- Experience and strong knowledge relating to use of cleaning equipment, chemicals and substances
- Experience in land scaping and grounds maintenance is a MUST
- Effective communication skills able to interact in a pleasant manner with staff at all levels and to encourage and motivate a diverse cleaning team.
- Good business sense and enterprising individual
- A positive attitude coupled with a team spirit
- Flexible to work in any part of the country, schedules and assignment requiremnts.
- Must be of high integrity and respectful of others Ability to drive and cycle is an added advantage
