Principal Associate and Legal Assistant – One (1) Vacancy
A leading and growing mid-sized law firm based in Nairobi is recruiting an Advocate of the High Court to work in its intensive dispute resolution and employment departments.
Role, Purpose & Responsibility Summary
The purpose of the role is to provide dispute resolution and employment law support and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Attending court and handling of various court matters.
2. Drafting pleadings, briefs and submissions before various courts and tribunals.
3. Prepare, evaluate, and monitor status reports, client briefs and opinions.
4. Prepare, evaluate, and monitor file and matter reporting.
5. Assist the line partner manage and supervise the tasks and deliverables of associates.
6. Significantly and positively contribute to the firm’s team ethic, knowledge portfolio, business
development, corporate social responsibility, and the growth of young lawyers.
7. Assist the line partner with delegated tasks.
Qualifications
(a) Bachelor’s degree in law – Upper Division.
(b) 4 – 5 years post admission experience from a reputable university.
(c) Additional qualifications such as Masters, Degrees, Diplomas, and professional courses are an
added advantage.
(d) Demonstrable work experience in an intensive commercial law firm within the dispute resolution
and employment departments.
(e) Demonstrable high level of drafting, advocacy, and client management skills.
(f) Demonstrable experience in a leadership, management, and administrative role.
(g) High level of professionalism and integrity.
