Job Purpose:

  • The Retail Pharmacist responsible will oversee the daily operations of the retail pharmacy. He/she focus will be on ensuring that all Kasha operations are in-line with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board’s general regulations and policies. Ensure that all pharmaceutical transactions and processes found at the pharmacy meet all requirements and are delivered with the appropriate quality standards, following the ethics that govern pharmaceutical practices. This role reports directly to the Kenya Health lead. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Customer service and patient health: Serving customers by preparing medications, giving drug-related information to the patients, and monitoring patient drug therapies.
  • Processing prescriptions by reviewing and interpreting prescriber’s orders, advising where necessary, and controlling medications by monitoring drug therapies.
  • Promoting rational use of medicines and maintaining the welfare of the patient and the public.
  • Manage the pharmaceutical business operations: Abiding and promoting good pharmaceutical practices in the pharmacy.
  • Keeping records of purchases, sales, and customer complaints. Inclusive filling of all prescriptions.
  • Leading in the acquisition of new stock and the introduction of new products in the pharmacy.
  • Ensure that the supply of medicines is within the law and regulations of the PPB.
  • Recommend pharmaceutical products to add to Kasha’s platform.
  • Advise marketing and sales team on campaigns for pharmaceutical sales.
  • Produce weekly and monthly detailed reports on pharmaceutical sales and processes.

Role Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university with a valid state pharmacy license.
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical laws and PPB regulations in Kenya.
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience within the wholesale pharmacy sector in Kenya.
  • Ability to multi-task and generate quality work.
  • Good writing skills and the ability to develop meaningful concepts, proposals, and reports.
  • Added advantage previous experience working in HIV/AIDs program.
