About the Opportunity:

We at Africa’s Talking are thrilled to offer an exciting apprenticeship opportunity for individuals passionate about integration development. This program will provide hands-on experience with various integration applications including the Software Development Kit (SDK), Freshdesk, Zoho, and Zendesk. As an Integration Developer Apprentice, you will work closely with our expert team of engineers, contributing to real projects and challenges. This 3-6-month program is designed to provide comprehensive training and practical experience in the dynamic world of integration development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and update of Africa’s Talking SDK.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of integration applications for Freshdesk, Zoho, and Zendesk.
• Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features.
• Test and troubleshoot applications to ensure optimal performance and responsiveness.
• Document and maintain software functionality.

Qualifications:

• Current enrollment or recent graduation from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or Experienced Developer.
• Basic understanding of programming languages such as Java, Scala, JavaScript, Ruby, Python, or similar.
• Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, REST APIs) is a plus.
• Interest in software development and integration platforms.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, and eager to learn.

Over the course of this apprenticeship, you will gain valuable experience and knowledge in various aspects of integration development, such as:

• Gaining a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle in a professional setting.
• Acquiring hands-on experience with modern programming languages and technologies.
• Understanding best practices for writing efficient, maintainable code.
• Collaborating with a team of experienced developers and learning from their expertise. Please note that this is a paid apprenticeship program, and upon successful completion, there may be potential for a full-time position.
