Overview of the Multimedia Designer Role:
Position Overview:
The Multimedia Designer will be responsible for creating engaging and visually appealing motiongraphics and multimedia content to support the communication and marketing efforts of Swahilipot Hub Foundation. The incumbent will work closely with the Communications team to develop and implement visual strategies that effectively convey our organization’s message and values to various stakeholders.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop visually compelling motion graphics and multimedia content, including videos, animations, and interactive presentations, that effectively communicate Swahilipot’s mission, goals, and initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Communications team to understand the organization’s communication objectives and target audience, and translate them into visually appealing and impactful motion graphics.
Utilize industry-standard software and tools, such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and
Illustrator, to create high-quality motion graphics and multimedia content. - Create storyboards, scripts, and concept designs for motion graphics projects, and ensure that they align with SPH’s branding guidelines and communication strategies.
- Edit and optimize multimedia content for various platforms, including social media, websites, and presentations, to ensure maximum reach and impact.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in motion graphics and multimedia content creation, and provide recommendations on new technologies and techniques to enhance SPH’s communication efforts.
- Coordinate and manage multimedia production projects, including liaising with external vendors, managing budgets, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
- Provide technical support and training to other team members as needed to enhance their multimedia content creation skills.
- Maintain a digital asset library of multimedia content, including videos, animations, graphics, and other visual assets, and ensure that they are organized and easily accessible for future use.
PREFERABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Is a Citizen of Kenya;
- Bachelor’s degree in multimedia design, motion graphics, animation, or a related field.
- Proven experience (at least 3-5 years) in motion graphics and multimedia content creation, preferably in a
professional setting. - Strong proficiency in industry-standard software and tools, such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro,
Photoshop, and Illustrator. - Demonstrated ability to create visually appealing and engaging motion graphics that effectively convey
complex messages and concepts. - Excellent understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and visual storytelling.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet
deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment. - Excellent communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and
provide constructive feedback to improve visual content. - Knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing trends is a plus.
- Familiarity with issues related to international development, human rights, and social justice is desirable.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate a high level of creativity and
initiative.
