Job Requirements

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D (Plain) or its equivalent; and
  • A trade test certificate from National Industrial Training Authority (NITA), minimum of Grade Test II in Electrical Installations.

Job Description

  • Inspecting and maintaining electrical installations in buildings;
  • Testing and maintaining electrical controls related to fire detection equipment, cookers, water heaters and general domestic appliances; and
  • Inspecting and maintaining electrical controls in diesel generating plants; and machinery.

Work Officer II – 57 Positions

Job Requirements

  • Served in the grade of Inspector III or in a comparable and relevant position for at least three (3) years.
  • Have two (3) Years relevant experience
  • Have a Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized Higher Learning Institution
  • Be registered as a graduate Technician Engineer with the EBK (Engineers Board of Kenya); and
  • Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.

Job Description

  • Supervision of road works assigned by the Engineer and in accordance with the Contract:
  • Review the contractors’ proposed methodology for road reserve protection and advice the Engineer;
  • Review the contractor’s proposed health and safety plans and advice the Engineer;
  • Review the effectiveness of the safety programmes being implemented by the Road contractor and recommend corrective action where necessary;
  • Assess the quality of the executed works and recommend for their certification as complying with the specifications,
  • Prepare and submit to the Engineer, detailed periodic progress reports on Road works;
  • Inspect the completed works and recommend for Inspection;
  • Conduct surveys to collect field data on road reserve encroachments and road inventory;
  • Prepare and maintain site records and other road work records as well as undertake joint measurements of contracted works; and
  • Prepare work plans in liaison with the supervisor;
  • Assist the Engineer in preparing and interpreting blueprints, drawings, drawings, layouts, and other visuals aids;
  • Perform any other lawful duties as may be assigned from time to time

Technical Inspector II – Mechanical – 3 Positions

Job Requirements

  • Served in the grade of Inspector III or in a comparable and relevant position for at least three (3) years; and
  • A Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Technician part III or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Be registered as a graduate Technician Engineer with the EBK (Engineers Board of Kenya); and
  • Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.

  • Preparation of drawings and designs for manufacture and fabrication of tools, equipment and machine/plant/vehicle component; and
  • Repair and preparation of maintenance schedules for vehicles and plant machinery.
  • formulating and developing of Mechanical and Fleet management policies
  • Coordinating the preparation of budgets, strategic plan, work plans, procurement plans and progress reports
  • Performing any other lawful duties as may be assigned from time to time

Technical Inspector II – Electrical – 12 Positions 

Job Requirements

  • Day to day Supervision of all Lighting and Energy projects and programmes
  • Maintaining electrical controls in power generating plants and machinery.

Mechanical Engineer II

Job Requirements

  • Be in possession of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution; and
  • Be registered by Engineer`s Registration Board of Kenya as a Graduate Engineer.
  • 3 Years post-graduation Experience in an Engineering field
  •  Proficiency in computer applications.
  •  Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

  • Planning, organizing, and collecting of economic, environmental and social data for various Nairobi City County Lighting &Energy investment programs and strategies.
  • Preparation of bid documents for County Projects.
  • Preparation of Electrical Engineering Designs of all Electrical and Energy Projects
  • Preparation and reviewing of tender documentation for Electrical and Energy Projects.
  • Preparing records for Lighting and Energy asset database;
  • Preparation of procurement plans for Lighting and Energy Projects,
