Sustainable Talent is partnering with Magic Leap, an American Technology company leading innovation in the Augmented Reality space. We are searching for an experienced Technical Writer to join the team!

This is a W-2 full-time US remote contract position with offices based out of Plantation, FL. Pay is flexible based on experience with full benefits, PTO, and opportunity for permanent employment with the company. The base pay for this position ranges from 50/hr. to 62/hr.

We’re looking for a Technical Writer who can quickly form good working relationships with developers and work collaboratively to produce documentation that simplifies, explains, and empowers users to adopt and rely on Magic Leap products and services. This includes composing original content, revising draft documents supplied by developers, and making legacy content freshly relevant to an engaged audience.

Technical Writer Responsibilities:

  • Write, edit, and review user guides and API documentation to help users get the most from our products.
  • Support multiple development teams to deliver high-quality technical content within a fast-paced software release schedule.
  • Use internal templates, standards and our in-house style guide to create clear and reusable content.
  • Adapt existing content strategies and create new ones to reflect user needs.
  • Help a globally distributed team improve the documentation user experience for our amazing community.

Technical Writer Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years professional experience as a Technical Writer (in related industry preferred).
  • Experience working as a technical writer on different types of documentation such as API guides, programmer guides, installation guides, and user manuals.
  • Experience writing and publishing user-facing documentation for an international audience.
  • Excellent computing skills, ideally with an understanding of programming.
  • Impeccable standard of written and spoken English.
  • Experience balancing multiple priorities and delivering results within tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with how 3D data is used in the industries we support.
  • Experience producing documentation using Markdown, as well as an understanding of source control tools like GitHub.
  • Experience using issue trackers such as JIRA to track project tasks.
  • Some travel may be required between offices and to some major industry events.
