Job Purpose
The Human Resources Officer will be responsible for establishing efficient and scalable HR processes in a fast-paced start-up environment. They should be pragmatic, positive, engaging, and experienced HR professionals who can handle challenging employee situations with sensitivity and empathy.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the People Operations team to support all aspects of the employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and performance management
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
- Develop HR policy and procedures to drive performance and mitigate disputes
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues
- Support managers dealing with employee concerns and performance management processes
- Support team members with challenges and issues as they develop in their roles with Amitruck
- Build effective scalable HR systems, tactics, and metrics across the organization
- Nurture a positive working environment
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
- Manage the reward and benefit programs
- Report to the leadership team and provide decision support through HR metrics
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management
Experience Required 🎖
- Bachelor’s degree in Human resource management or related field
- At least 3 years of experience in a People Operations or HR role, preferably in a startup or tech environment
- Strong understanding of local labor laws and regulations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms. Experience with Google Workspace a plus
- Fluency in English (Swahili a plus)
