About the job
The Technician will install, maintain and design solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. Provide technical support to aid in sales and maintain accurate department records. This role is acrucial as it ties with the daily operations for our firm.
Responsibilities
- Assembles and installs solar panels on roofs and other structures.
- Configures PV systems based on site conditions and customers’ needs and expectations; connects panels to the power grid.
- Follows building standards and codes when installing panels and support structures.
- Inspects electrical installation and wiring.
- Tests operating voltages; calibrates to ensure systems are within acceptable power limits.
- Ensures that equipment is weather sealed.
- Performs routine maintenance on PV systems.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Provides technical support to nontechnical staff.
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in electrical engineering or renewable energy.
- Must be able to work at great heights.
- Must be able to lift at least 16 kg at a time.
