The Social Media Marketer will develop and implement social media strategies, copy concept development, execution and reporting for our portfolio of clients and Nendo. The roles focus is to grow our  online presence and improve the digital sales, marketing and communications efforts of our clients.

You will be working closely with a team of Client Success Managers, Strategist and Art Directors to accomplish this purpose. You are great at using your words and understand how to create engaging brand stories to achieve different brand outcomes.  

You will be responsible for;

  • Social Media Strategy – Build and execute social media strategies through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and target audience identification
  • Execution – Design, development and deployment of digital marketing and social media campaigns, including budget planning, content ideation, and implementation schedules.
  • Benchmarking – Define and set the most relevant and important social media KPIs per-client (based on brief, industry and client’s overall objectives).
  • Ad Copy Development – Generating multiple variants of messaging (copy) for testing, review and reference across different digital platforms.
  • Content Development – Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (text, images, video) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to respond to call-to-action
  • Content Calendars – Prepare and submit content calendar(s) for relevant social media channels
  • Optimization – Set up and optimise client social media pages within each platform to increase the visibility of company’s social content.
  • Community Management – Moderate all user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community and suggest content optimisation tactics adjustments (monthly – to client, more frequently internally).
  • Brainstorms – Collaborate with designers by providing concept (idea) and copy (wording) to guide the creative process.
  • Review creative work output to meet internal and client expectations and standards and most importantly the brief.
  • Documentation – Create comprehensive reports to demonstrate plans, execution, learning and recommendations to client to aid improvement of future marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Desktop Research – Research and monitor activity of client competitors in their different industries
  • Stakeholder Management – Briefing and monitoring digital influencer efforts in support of meeting campaign goals. Build relationships within this spaces and key vendors (e.g. Turnleft, One Pulse, Viusasa etc)

Your Qualifications;

  • 4+ years of experience in a busy digital marketing agency handling a portfolio of clients.
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal in English and Kiswahili.
  • Creativity with the ability to bring your idea to life through excellent slogans, content calendars and campaign big ideas.
  • Excellent organisation skills that show up in ones ability to prioritize their workload well.
  • Detail oriented in their approach to work output, able to spot errors in their own work.
  • Experience in developing both long form (Website Content, SEO, Newsletters) and short form content.
  • Experience running, monitoring and optimizing performance marketing digital campaigns.
  • A solid understanding of SEO and how it work.
  • Adaptable, you are able to adjust to the ever changing nature of digital.
