JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE
Coordinate the daily activities of the Fire Technician and Fire Department Operations to ensure all emergency response equipment are maintained, ready for any emergency situation and the Emergency Response Team (ERT) is ready to respond at all times. Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Emergency Preparedness & Response (EPR) related issues.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Emergency Response Team Management & Support
- Coordinate the Emergency Response team to ensure minimum loss of life and assets.
- Schedule Emergency Response team training, plan and execute scheduled drills, conduct critiques and work with the department to initiate improvement opportunities.
- Manage the Emergency Response team roster and oversee skills competency of each member to ensure roster is always current.
- Work with schedulers to address shortfalls in the minimum number of on-shift responders.
- Manage and maintain the operations of the Fire Training Ground to be an efficient venue of skills development for the Emergency Response team.
- Coordinate Emergency Response team and act as the Incident Commander for any emergency situation at the facility.
- Review and update the Emergency Preparedness & Response Procedure (EPRP) to ensure current and aligned with applicable requirements (e.g. OE, NFPA, RLIC).
- Participate in the standardization efforts of response methods across all shifts and attain good level of understanding on applicable NFPA standards.
- Participate in JSAs, open flame hot work, Fire box inspections, Lock Tag & Try partial breakage, critical lifts, stores all closed-out confined space entry permits, etc.
- Assist in writing, revising and implementing approved work practices or SOPs for fire department operations. Participate in the standardization efforts of response methods across all shifts.
- Supervise on-shift fire and safety coordinator and Fire Technicians, set the daily tasks and monitor performance by guiding and coaching them to meet expectations.
Emergency Response Equipment Maintenance
- Conduct scheduled inspections, testing and maintenance activities on equipments, maintain records, report and manage the repair/replacement process for defective equipment. Enter SAP work requests for required maintenance activities
- Collect samples and analyze critical safety items such as foam stock, breathing air and potable eye-wash stations on regular basis to ensure proper compliance.
- Manage the fire extinguisher and breathing air equipment inspection program for the facility.
- Coordinate and supervise third-party contractor activities on-site for extinguisher and breathing air maintenance activities.
- Supply and maintain breathing air and equipment for the facility. Wash, dry & bag masks, refill breathing air bottles, maintain cascade systems.
- Ensure adequate on-site stock levels of firefighting and emergency response consumables.

- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of Departmental systems, policies, processes and practices taking into account ‘international leading practices’ in order to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
- Provide critical input to support the development of Section’s systems, policies, processes, and procedures in order to meet business requirements.
- Implement all relevant Section’s policies, processes, procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Quality, Health, Security, Safety and Environment
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant quality, health, safety, security and environmental procedures and controls across the Section to guarantee employee safety and delivery of high quality products/services.
Reporting
- Prepare relative reports in a timely and accurate manner in order to meet the Department’s requirements, policies and standards.
Qatarization
Contribute to the development of Qatari employees. This accountability is applicable to expatriate employees only.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education
Required : Bachelor’s Degree Science or Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Response/Rescue/Firefighting/Emergency Medical Response/Paramedic.
Experience
Required : 5-7 years of relevant experience in the O&G Industry.
Other Job Specific Requirements and/or Vocational Accreditations
- NEBOSH or equivalent certification.
- Emergency equipment operations

Languages
Required : English- proficient
Preferred : Arabic- working knowledge
