The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding, well-qualified teacher of Sociology and / or Religious Studies to teach engaged and committed students across all age groups.
Although it would be advantageous for the ideal candidate to be able to teach both subjects, we are looking for the best person for the role and the School; this may involve a specialism in either Sociology or Religious Studies (with the ability to teach up to A Level essential) and a willingness to grow into teaching the second subject.
The successful candidate would be expected to teach at least GCSE and A Level classes in their primary subject, As a full boarding school, St Andrew’s is committed to providing a vibrant co-curricular and boarding program to which all staff contribute. The successful candidate will be an academic tutor and attached to a specific boarding house for duties. Employment for the appointed candidate will commence on 1 September 2023.

Essential to working with us are:
- The need to be able to support the School’s aims and Christian ethos
- A clear passion for Sociology / Religious Studies and the teaching thereof
- A good degree in your teaching subject and relevant teaching experience (minimum 2 years)
- Experience in pastoral care (boarding school experience is desirable)
- A strong work ethic and a track record of working well in a team
